4th of July 2016

I love the 4th of July! it will forever be one of my favorite holidays! The Sunday before the 4th we got together with my family after Sunday dinner for a firework show at my sisters.

On the 4th of July-Channy was nice enough to rent out the clubhouse at her apartments before she moved. We had a big BBQ with the cutest decorations and then those who wanted to swam, played pool and hung out etc... It was the funnest afternoon!

I love my family!
Best Grandparents ever!

Sadie's Blessing

June 26, 2016 was Sadie's special day! Grandpa Olsen gave her a beautiful blessing! We're so grateful for all of our friends and family that came to support us and show their love for our baby girl. Unfortunately, I couldn't get pictures of everyone there but here are some of our favorites from the day.

Sadie was blessed in the same dress I was blessed in. It made the day extra special!

Sadie's Firsts

Seeing as how my baby is almost a year old now... It seems like a good time to get caught up documenting some of her firsts.

First car ride home. What a terrifying experience to just be handed a perfect little human being with on instruction manual and sent on your way!
First Bath at home with Grandma. We were lucky enough to have my mom come stay the first couple nights. She gave Sadie her first bath at home that night to teach Mom and Dad what to do : )
First doctors visit! As you can tell she was not impressed.....
Dad's first time bathing baby girl! and first time bathing a baby ever. He did great
First time under the bilirubin lights :( Sadie's bilirubin levels had been slightly elevated since discharging from the hospital. We had gone in frequently to get her levels checked and while they kept increasing slightly- on Tuesday April 26 2016 we were told we would have to put her under the bilirubin lights. It was such a heartbreaking moment! She hated it! we finally got her to calm down by putting her on her tummy but it was still miserable. We didn't leave her side the whole time and mom stayed awake that whole night watching to make sure she didn't take her goggles off or get too upset. Thank goodness her levels improved drastically the next day so we only had to do lights for 24 hours.
                                                             First time meeting the dogs!
First time in stroller and first walk with mom! We went up Provo Canyon with aunts and cousins and it was so nice to get out and enjoy the weather.
First time in big girl bath! The cord finally fell off at 2 weeks old. She loved being able to get in the bath.
First memorial Day and first time down on Grandpa Olsen's farm!
 First camo outfit :)
First rodeo! Slept through the whole thing but deep down I know she loved it!

First starting to smile! cutest most happiest baby ever! She has a smile that takes up her whole face when she smiles real big. Shes the cutest thing ever!

(Pre-baby) Rest of 2016

Here are a few of the things we did in 2016 leading up to Sadie joining our family.
Annual trip to Island Park Idaho

The dogs became weirdly obsessed with waiting for us while watching us shower

Russ & the pups got in lots of chukar hunting
Russ and I built this wood wall for Sadie girls nursery. I am in love with how it turned out!
My work got a unit of distinction award. I love my work family!
Toured the new Provo City Center Temple
Russ turned 29! We had a fun time celebrating him being in the last year of his 20's

Russ wanted a body armor aka bullet proof vest for his birthday. Naturally we had to try it out!
In March I lost a dear co-worker friend unexpectedly. We all showed up in our hospitals "blues" to support him at his funeral. Carter was a great friend and a great co-worker. We will all miss him!

Watched Daphnee compete in her first competition!
The last few weeks of pregnancy I found myself getting weekly non-stress tests. Sadie was "measuring small" so they wanted to check her and my fluid levels weekly. Luckily everthing was always fine. this was how she felt about the nurses little buzzer that would wake her up for the test haha. love her little bum sticking out!
Visited my dad's farm to see his new horse. I love seeing my dad in his element of farming, and working animals.
